78th Independence day of India 2024 | Tiranga Jhanda, Indian Flag Importance & significance

In this year of 2024, India is going to celebrate its 78th Independence day with social distancing norms. This year India completes its 77 years of being an Independent nation.

Mahatma Gandhi thoughts on the national flag of India

He was the first to come up with the idea of National flag through his article published in "Young India" in April 1921.

"A flag is a necessity for all nations. Millions have died for it. It is no doubt a kind of idolatry which would be a sin to destroy. For, a flag represents an Ideal The unfurling of the Union Jack evokes in the English breast sentiments whose strength it is difficult to measure. The Stars and Stripes mean a world to the Americans. The Star and the Crescent will call forth the best bravery in Islam."

"It will be necessary for us Indians, Hindus, Muslims, Christians Jews, Parsis, and all others to whom India is their home-to recognize a common flag to live and to die for."

If you want to know more about the history of Indian flag, do consider reading this beautiful informative article published here at

Significance of different colors in Indian flag: Our Pride Tiranga

Indian flag is coined as Tiranga Jhanda because of the tri-colours present in the Indian flag. Each color and element in our national flag signifies a great message.

Saffron color represents courage and sacrifice.
White color symbolic of truth and purity,
Green color tells us about faith, fertility and growth.
And, the blue wheel of virtue implies that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.

I won't be making this article too much heavy. Because there are some very good articles present on the internet which I would be sharing in this post itself.

I would be rather talking about simple things that we all are proud of.

The biggest blessings for anyone born in the Indian territory is being an Indian in itself. India stands first for all of us belonging to different castes, religions. That can be easily seen and felt whenever we celebrate Independence Day each year. We see it even in daily lives. Whenever we listen to the National Anthem, the respect comes automatically. We stand still and the feeling that unites all of us irrespective of any man made classes.

Indian Soldiers make us proud every single moment of our lives. They are the front flag bearers of Nation Pride and Security. We are indeed blessed to have such brave soldiers protecting India's geographical boundaries, from any unwanted incidences all throughout the year, be it on land, water or air.
